'Left Behind' - A new bride left onshore as her husband heads off to the grand banks for the fishing season. A lifestyle indicative of the Newfoundland fishery of the early 1800’s. She had no way of predicting how long the voyage might last. The Newfoundland schooner would only come back to the harbour once its belly had been filled with cod.
The waves represent her internal turmoil; the clouds represent her fear, but also a glimmer of hope for a safe return.
