The Town of Trinity can trace its history back to the 16th and 17th centuries as a migratory, then permanent, fishing station. During the 18th and 19th centuries the Town and area became the major centre of trade on the northeast coast of Newfoundland. Trinity is perhaps the most notable “heritage community” in the province.
